The jacket is light and breathable yet warm enough for the cold evening runs
I have this in women's. The waffle pattern insulation is very warm. Inside front pocket FINALLY in a women's jacket. Tight at the wrists to keep moisture out. Water beads off the outside so I'm never wet. Collar is structured and sits nicely. It's so stylish, I'll wear it both for athletics, casually, and even over a dress. It's a great simple staple piece that is thoughtfully designed!
I wasn't convinced when I bought this jacket but I thought I'd give it a try. I was able to swap it out for a fleece and a long sleeved dri fit type jacket and still stay warm. The material is a bit stiff but I think that helps with wind/water repelling and I honestly can't say it bothered me. Most trendy sportswear these days is tight but this looks fitted without being tight. For reference I am 5' 5'' and 120 lbs. I have a bit of room to spare around the waist , which I like. If I could change anything, it would be to put thumb slits into the sleeves. Other than that, it's pretty great.
This is by far my favorite jacket to layer with in winter temps. It insulates really well but never feels too hot or uncomfortable. Love that it’s stylish enough to wear when not running.
I can't say enough good things about the stormrunner! It is the perfect weight for so many things...over a t-shirt when it's first starting to get cold (40s-50s), and over another layer or two when it's actually cold (20s and 30s.) I love that the fit is a little looser so that I can wear layers underneath without feeling too puffy. The sleeves are long enough to provide a little hand coverage, which is great so I don't have any cold gaps with my gloves. It also does really well in the wind or snow - it's also good in a drizzle, but wouldn't wear it in a downpour. This is really the perfect run/hike/XC ski jacket!
