Beginning in 2021, we reengineered our Transit Tech fabric to be made from recycled polyester instead of virgin poly, lowering the impact of this textile. We also increased the stretch and reduced the weight while we were at it to improve overall comfort and performance.

Transit Tech uses a PFC-free C0 DWR finish

Our Transit Tech fabric is also bluesign® certified meaning it is free from harmful chemicals and is fabricated in a way that meets a high environmental standard.

I wanted shorts a little longer and with more pockets than the women’s shorts. I love these shorts and am going to order another pair. They fit well, are lightweight, and the pockets are just right.

Love these shorts, especially for hiking

I've only had these shorts for about a week now but they've become my favorite pair! I love them for relaxing/lounging given how stretchy and comfortable these shorts are. I took them out for a hike/climb and they performed really well as I travelled through thick brush and scrambled up rocks. Despite snagging my shorts on various things all day, they didn't tear and appeared resistant to abrasion - and I really put them through the ringer. The zippered pockets are a great touch, so I never had to worry about my phone falling out.

The DWR coating seemed to hold up well on my hike as I went through some wet brush, but this was also the first wear so not sure how long it'll hold up for. It was also a hot day (80* in the PNW) but I never felt like the shorts were making me hot and they felt very breathable.

The only thing I would complain about is length - I generally like slightly longer shorts (by 1-2") for more coverage. Pretty minor, since everything else about these shorts is perfect.

Go-to hiking shorts, good for running too

Took a chance on these shorts, not having tried Janji previously. Absolutely love them. Light, perfect length, great pockets (with zippers!). Small pocket for keys or nutrition. Hand pockets are big enough to use for a phone (in casual use) and sewn into shorts so won't bang around. Immediately bought another pair, and can't wait to use them for an upcoming trip to CO trail running and hiking. Only gripe is the waistband tie is too short and therefore useless. Also the earth color is a bit mustard-like.

I love these shorts. Different material, substantial yet light. Very good quality. I have one problem though. I'm right between a medium and a large. They'd be perfect in every way if there was a medium and a half option!
