so many freaking pockets! love this: dries quickly, works well, fits great. never use the s-biner, but the rest is appreciated every run
Full disclosure, I work for Janji, but I've been waiting to try out these shorts since they first started in development a year+ ago. I'm really stoked with how they came out. The thing I love most about them aesthetically is they look really nice and clean with the pockets hidden underneath the outer shell. Functionally, I love that the pockets are snug to the liner, so they stay tucked against your body and you don't feel anything move around when you run. I was able to run comfortably with a phone, wallet, keys, and 4 gels with room for more.
I love the stretchy perforated fabric as well. The only cons I would say is that the pockets are a bit tough to get into when you're on the move. You get the hang of it eventually.
I don't usually take much gear on my runs beyond a watch, headphones, plus maybe a gel pack and some water, but long hikes are a different story. I recently took these shorts on 3 pretty epic adventures in Big Sur and Idyllwild, California and these are easily my new go-to hiking shorts for warm weather. They stayed cool and dry and gave me easy and secure access to my GoPro, snacks, sunscreen and harmonica. The little clip to keep your keys locked in is a really nice touch too. Just not a huge fan of the infinity loop. I've got big fingers and it's difficult for me to tighten the shorts. Other than that: huge fan! I'm 6'0", 165 lbs and wear the medium.
I would have preferred a boxer style liner to the brief. Overall, excellent pocket system. The pockets also do a great job staying dry.
Great looking shorts and feel great. But you can’t tighten the shorts and normally I wear a large and these shorts tend to feel just slightly lose when I wear them. So then when I start adding gels or things into the pockets it pulls them down more which isn’t ideal. Adding a phone to the pocket is definitely asking too much. Even if they fit a phone in the back just flips around way too much. Just be extra careful to get the right size.
Overall very nice shorts but the infinity loop makes it impossible to tighten the shorts. So if you have a phone in the pocket the shorts droop down and leave your butt crack exposed. Wondering how anybody thought this was a good idea.
