The first rule to making something sustainable? Build it to last. This short is built to endure the rigors of serious wear. We removed zippers, because they will inevitably fail. We made it out of our AFO-Vent fabric — a durable nylon that is lightweight yet tough, abrasion resistant, odor resistant and will retain its shape. We changed the drawcord to an infinity loop that will not get tugged out in the wash and we reinforced the pocket openings with 14 bar tacks.

Our AFO-Vent fabric is also bluesign® certified meaning it is free from harmful chemicals and is fabricated in a way that meets a high environmental standard.

Lightweight and Comfortable

Lightweight and very comfortable. I have only used these shorts on shorter runs so far so I haven't gotten to try out the ample storage pockets but I'm looking forward to trying them on a longer run soon. So far they've been great. Still flexible and light feeling even when soaked from rain. Built-in brief is comfortable and has not contributed to any chafing yet.

Ingenious waist pockets; needs gadget for elastic band

I have two pair of these and love them. I bike in them for relatively short distances (7-8 miles) and wear them walking, too. Their waist pockets are brilliant for small things that get bunched in fanny packs: mini bike cable, mask, tube of Arnica, keys, phone, etc., because each has its own pocket. It is kind of clumsy getting the iphone SE in/out of the back pocket, but it's doable. The fabric is very pliable and breathable, and it looks nice, too. The "open" elastic waistband is a mystery. Other models have elastic that is cut and tied, so it looks like designers stopped cutting it because people were untying it and losing it in the waist. I have tried several methods to use it but have yet to find something that works other than pulling it tight enough to make a knot, but that's too tight. Note: for me, it's only necessary if I have the stupid phone, which is very heavy (even the SE).

BTW, your size question is not answerable. You should know that all brands have different sizes, so there is no "usual"; you have to know per brand. I left it blank.

Great short

I'm a gal who often wears men's running short, i like how they feel and they often have longer inseams. This short is now my go-to for hiking/running/backpacking/daily life because of the built in pockets. This is why originally purchased them, but I soon fell in love with the fit and high quality material of the shorts! Again, on sizing, I am a lady who bought these shorts and I normally size up because I have more of a booty than most guys so I got a L which fits well but I have to cinch up the waist band quite a bit, but that works for me. If I reorder I'll probably try a M (5'9" 155lbs with athletic build for reference)

Love them!

I'm always looking for shorts with some pockets and when these popped up decided to give them a try. These are my first Janji shorts and I really love them. The design is great and the pockets around the band are very nice and exactly what I was hoping for when I purchased. Highly recommend!!

These make my legs look INCREDIBLE

The only downside of these shorts is that it has turned me into Narcissus. I cannot stop looking at myself, every time I walk past my reflection I break my neck to check myself out. Don't buy these shorts if you don't want your confidence to go through the moon!!!

New Favorite Running Shorts

These shorts are awesome! I purchased these for longer runs where I utilize gels, I have not had any issue with the gels bouncing the fit feels secure and adequate. I have been extremely satisfied with the shorts and will look to purchase more in the future.

5 stars with a caveat

Great product all around. Material, fit, and functional storage space all A+.
My only caveat to my otherwise very positive experience is the drawstring -- not sure why its connected/singular. Could be user error not knowing how to tighten this style of drawstring, but especially with amount of storage along the waistline, not being able to easily cinch down and secure the fit seems like a miss. Overall, great job Janji team, keep 'em coming.

My new Go To running shorts

The shorts are great! I love all of the pockets that surround the waistband as well as the more comfortable inner liner. Not too tight and not too baggy the fit is perfect!

My only issue is it would be nice to have at least one real pocket.

All the small pockets are great but it would be good to have one pocket I could slip my phone in without having to worry about it getting in the way of my hydration pack strap.
