Groundwork Knit is made using a premium grade nylon that has a significantly tighter woven filament than standard synthetics. Tighter filaments mean less microfiber shedding in the wash-cycle, plus greater durability of the garment (longer lifespan, more wearing).
Groundwork Knit fabric is also bluesign® certified meaning it is free from harmful chemicals and is fabricated in a way that meets a high environmental standard.
Powermesh-reinforced racerback pocket carries phone comfortably without bounce
Breathable, moisture-wicking fabric provides light compression with an unnoticeable feel in stride
Racerback design with wider shoulder straps + self-binded fabric provide next-to-skin comfort

I got this bra about a month ago and really liked the design, comfort, and compression. I usually wear a running bra twice before washing, and I air dry half the time, tumble dry low the other half (the directions on the tag say tumble dry low). Today when I took the bra out of the dryer I was disappointed to see the elastic fraying all around the bra- I assume this will affect the fit and compression. Pretty bummed that my $70 bra is wearing out only after a month, especially since I just bought a second and had washed it already in preparation of using it. I took a picture of the elastic but there doesn’t seem to be a place to share here.
I used this too for a long run. 17 miles
I was exited to use the fuel pockets
I think the material should be lighter and less absorbing
The top got heavier with sweat
Back phone packed lining should be more stretchy and flexible
I got a thinner case for my phone but still was a struggle to fit phone in or take it out.
At one point of the run 6 miles in I got a skin rug from the phone
Overall good idea but needs improvement
I absolutely love the Ascend bra and have it in multiple colors. This is my first Long bra and I was so disappointed that the back phone pocket is way too big, which causes your phone to slide down so far that you need both hands to pull it out. I had to fully stop my run to grab my phone. This is not the case with the Ascend bra. Bummer!
I so badly wanted to love this bra. It’s fine for me on short runs, but anything beyond 4 miles and I chafe at the band. I’m a long torso gal, so this also doesn’t look remotely like a crop on my frame.
I originally bought this top in a small. It did fit, but tightly. Just purchased in a medium and it fits much better. Still feel secure and supported, but more room to breathe.
Love this bra! It’s my go-to top for running now, and I have it in several colors. I would have given it five stars if the pads were sewn in and stayed in place better. After every wash, they get crumpled up and need to be taken out and put back in.
This is hands-down, my favorite bra. I’m a nursing mother and the bra even accommodates milky breasts without uncomfortable bouncing. After at least a year of use, I’ve never experienced chafing either.
Love the bra but it’s a little too snug for me.

I am smaller framed with large breasts - typically wear 34DD or 32G. It's really hard to find a running bra that I feel comfortable wearing without a shirt over it (it's hard to find running bras that are comfortable in general, lol), and this one has the coverage that I need! I got a Medium, and found that it held the girls in while not overdoing it on cleavage. The material outside of the bra (the crop material part) does slide up while I'm running (it doesn't roll up, it just sort of slides and scrunches), but once I get sweaty enough it clings and that doesn't happen. This summer it's not taking that long for that to happen. I didn't love storing my phone in the back because it slid so far down that I could reach it while running, but if you're just trying to store it there and don't need mid-run access, it's fine. I had some minor chafing on my collar bones after a 96% humidity 10 mile run, but not anything like I'd usually see on something like that. All in all, this product was a winner and I ordered a second one!
As a southern summer runner, this bra has been amazing. Fits well, phone pocket distributes weight well and does not chafe! It’s substantial enough to wear as a crop but light enough for a shirt over it.
Great compression level and comfortable material
It is snug - I got a medium and I usually wear a medium. But this definitely fits without any bounce. No chaffing, no irritation on my armpits or ribcage. It has already made its way into my usual kit.
Loved it so much I bought another!! Comfortable for speed runs and long runs, and the phone pocket and small front pocket are perfect for gels.
I needed a bra to wear under a wetsuit for triathlons. I removed the pads. This bra provides enough compression for running (after swimming and biking) and enough coverage for a 67 year old athlete. It is very comfortable.
After 3, 16mi + long runs, I can say this is a pretty good bra (supportive, no bounce, no weird sweat pattern), but there is still unfortunate chaffing, specifically where the seams are to hold in those removable pads.
Why are there (removable) pads? Why are there seams on the inside? I'm no stranger to sports bras chaffing, and this bra has a lot of potential, but why are there seams on the inside that aren't on the outside? I don't care how my bra looks on the outside... put the seams on the outside if you really think we need padded sports bras (spoiler: we don't).
This is my second long bra purchase. It’s very comfortable and fits true to size. I wish the pads didn’t crease so easily. But over all it’s a great bra. The pocket is why I buy bras these days. Don’t even know the phone is there.
I do like the features of the piece. I am unfortunately between sizes which is not any fair or the product. My usual small was too snug around the upper torso and the medium which I have now is quite loose around the arm holes. I will definitely keep the medium as it will still work. Love the product you offer.
Love this bra so much! I have tried so many other top rated running bras and all of them chafed my skin (even when I applied anti-chafing balm). I only wish the neckline was a bit lower, and that it came in more solid colors!
