Great short

Very comfortable but definitely size up if you are anywhere close as all the multi line do fit tighter. Pockets are very convenient but would love for the side ones to be just a little deeper so I can fit my 300ml collapsible bottles in them easier. They fit now but it can be a struggle. These are still by far some of the most comfortable shorts I have tried.

Great everyday run short

These shorts are comfy and secure. I use the back pocket for my phone and have very little to no bounce when running.

Zero Stretch in Waist

Compared to my other Janji shorts - very disappointed. Have a large in another version and these in XL. These fit WAY tighter in waist. Very confused.

Great lightweight shorts

These are so lightweight you’ll forget you have them on! If you’re between sizes go with the larger because the liner causes a more snug fit.
The leg of these are definitely relaxed fit though.
I’m 5’6 127lbs slim woman. I got these because I didn’t want a super short version.

Not bad - runs slightly small

Typically wear small in shorts. These ones are a bit of a struggle to get on (slightly more muscular legs than “typical” runner build). Pockets are good for gels, but tough if you want easy in/out access for phone during a run. Pockets are snug, good for no bounce, tough to get stuff back in during runs. Adequate pockets to carry phone and fuel for a half no problem, probably a full if you start fueling early.

Great shorts

The shorts are lightweight and have a pretty good amount of storage. They're durable, not chaffing or even noticing them while running. The only improvement I can think of is it would be nice if there were side pockets for a phone.

Love the concealed storage but hope to have some minor changes

Light and stylish.
I can carry one 250ml SoftFlask in the back and one iPhone 15 pro at the front; the center stitch points above the front and back pocket really is in the way when you want to tuck a fully filled water flask and larger sm in and get them out.
Other complaint include the liner runs tight and the seam rubs my groin even I consider myself lean. Maybe size up if this is a concern.

Buy tights instead

I’ve purchased rights from Janji before and really like them but this was my first time buying shorts. I enjoy how light these shorts are but they bunch up in the crotch immediately upon running. I’ve tried with and without underwear and different types of underwear on multiple runs of varying distances and weather conditions and they always bunch up in the crotch and I find myself pulling them down during runs. Also will end up chaffing because of how they bunch. Not sure I will end up using them much now and will probably not be purchasing any others. Janji also has a difficult return policy so I’m also stuck with these shorts. The tights are great though so I’ll just stick to those from Janji in the future.

These shorts have well designed pockets for running, but they run small relative to other janji products

Best storage of any short

Storage on these is top notch. Absolutely no bounce, including full 600ml stored in front.
A single pair survived the entirety of the coast to coast trail across England with no holes or tears.

Generally good, i like the pockets

Generally good, not a love connection. Feels a little scratchy but does not chafe. Better after a wash. I little small, I have to wriggle them on a bit. Once on not bad.

Concerning quality lately...

I loved how they looked and performed but after the third time washing them, one of the elastic bands around the waist has completely pulled out and frayed. This is after also having issues with a winter hat I bought last fall that pilled and frayed all over after the first wash. Have been a big fan of Janji in the past, but after these last two pieces, will likely not buy from them again.

Good shorts for running

Good shorts for running. The pocket situation for a phone is not ideal. Really would bump these up to a five if that was squared away.

Good, but could be better for my purposes

I got these to replace some M's 4" AFO-Vent Multi Shorts from a while back. These are a solid short, but they're just not as good as what they were replacing. The storage is about the same, but freedom of movement has gone down a bit, and the big mountain adventures I use these for do benefit from the longer slit and shorter length of the prior model. The fabric and breathability are similar. Definitely a good pair of shorts, but they do leave some things to be desired compared to the model they replaced.

Good and Bad

Design of this shorts is easily a 5 star, when it comes to pockets, storage, weight, length etc. The issues arise over time, as they are used more. The liner in the shorts (in both pairs I've owned) has torn in the crotch after 2 months of use (on average i wear them 2x per week). The other issue is chafing, after more uses and therfore washes, the fibers in the liner break down (there is more space between the fibers) which causes them to essentially turn into fabric graters on your skin. They progressively cause more chafing, the more they are used, because they break down. Using anti-chafe helps to a certain extent but after screaming in the shower 3 or 4 times i realized it was time to throw them out.

Its hard to recommend them because of that reason.
