Great for all outdoor athletic adventures

I live in the PNW, bought this jacket back when I was running a lot (had to stop due to injury boooo). I think I only wore it once while running as I realized I would rather just get wet with rain than sweat. That said, I still use this jacket a LOT. I am a year round bike commuter and this is a great cycling jacket. My version is bright yellow which helps keep my visible on the road. I've never wet through even after 45 minutes in a downpour. The jacket is so light that I also started taking it out backpacking and it's worked wonderfully for this as well. Bright yellow is less amazing out on trail, which makes me ask- just how many rain runners does one need?? Several, apparently! I'm 5'10", 170lbs, small chested, Large fits great with room for layers.

Needed another rain jacket for a drop bag at a 100k. It ended up raining for several hours. I wore the jacket during a 10 mile stretch during a downpour. The jacket worked great. For sizing and fit, the fit matched the size for me.

My Favorite Running Item!

I love this jacket so much I wrote to Janji to thank them. I've had it since December and I live on the east coast running in snow, misty, and raining days and it's been incredible. Great shell so if you need to take it off mid run its easy to tie and stays on your waste. Idk how else to hype this up but worth it!!

my perfect layer

Staple layer since purchasing a few months back. Wind+water-proof but lightweight & never hot. Stylish, too: the lichen camo print has garnered me many compliments.
Have yet to wear running but appreciate details like the vents and elasticated wristband.
Worth it!

Exactly what I needed

Funny that I bought this jacket in preparation for a spring ultra and then it rained HARD on my next long run so I got to test it out! It was great. Kept me dry without overheating.

Exactly what I was looking for

Wore it during a rainy longer run yesterday, and it kept me dry and comfortable! My arms got a bit sweaty as it's understandably not breathable fabric, but I just alternated between rolling up and down the sleeves to cool down a little. I bought a size up in case I wanted to layer, but I probably would have been fine sticking to a Medium - I don't mind a loose fit though. Easy to take off and stash in a pocket or vest when not needed.

Feather weight
Comfortable. The sleaves are long enough and don't restrict movement.
Cute print goes with everything.

Soaked :(

I have been wearing this for about 3 months now, mostly as a windbreaker, without issue. With the right layers underneath it made cold morning runs a little more bearable.
But I wore it on a rainy run for the first time this past weekend. It wasn't raining very hard, light to medium rain. I ended up soaked on the tops of my arms, shoulders, chest, and back. And before anyone says "it's probably sweat" I actually have a medical issue where I don't sweat enough. This jacket definitely does not provide "total weather protection" as advertised. Shame as I really need a light-weight breathable rain jacket for running...
Fit wise, I went up a size so I could layer underneath, but thankfully my layers are light because sizing up did not afford me all that much room (pretty sure my usual size wouldn't have fit). I have long arms, and they do come just past my wrist which is nice.

Love the fit and pattern, but not at all waterproof :(

I’ve been wearing this jacket throughout the past 3mos while I’ve been training for an upcoming ultra and as for the fit and venting, it’s been wonderful! I also absolutely love the camo pattern. That all being said though, this jacket is NOT waterproof. Even short runs with just a drizzle, my arms in particular are soaked through almost immediately. If you’re looking for a good light weight jacket for mild conditions, this is great. But if you want something that stands up to any amount of rain, this unfortunately isn’t it :(

The missing piece!!!

I’ve been waiting way too long to buy this after hearing rave reviews from someone in run club a few years ago. This has room for a base layer and mid with breathe-ability in all the right places. Very well designed around the cuff and hood. Doesn’t stink after a long run. Holds up in breezy 27degrees! Folds or ties up for easy storage.

Drenched

I wore the rain jacket on a speed workout run in the rain that was also cold and windy! I was completely drenched 15 minutes in to the run! I am entirely disappointed because I bought 3 of these jackets for Christmas presents ! I want my money back!

I wanted a packable jacket that would be both a windbreaker and a raincoat to use on the Cotswold Way in May. I’ve worn it in both rain and wind and it is perfect.

Love this jacket

Was looking for a more waterproof jacket for those days in the PNW when we get real rain. Arrived just before a stretch of atmospheric rivers that caused major flooding. Jacket didn’t stop the floods but it didn’t stop me from running, either.

Bought a size larger than usual as I have long arms and wanted the sleeves to cover my hands a bit for when it’s damp but not cold enough for gloves. It probably runs true to size with a relaxed fit. Has vents in front and back so breathes well. 40F with a LS top is a bit warm for me so I think their 25-45 deg range is fairly accurate.

The only thing I’d add is more reflective tape but I run mostly on city sidewalks. I could be in a neon yellow Bigfoot costume and still distracted drivers would not see me

Don’t ever stop making this coat!

This coat is worth every single penny. It has tremendously increased my comfort on rainy, windy, and cold runs here in WA state. I sized up so that I could fit a warm/thick layer underneath, but it’s such a great shape and fit that it moves well even with a thin layer underneath. I also bit the dust in rocky trail and the coat didn’t tear or show any signs at all.

Meticulously designed. Buy it!

I also received excellent customer service when deciding between two sizes, and was given then exact measurements of the jacket. This helped me so much and ultimately led to my purchase!

Will see about zipper

My first rainrunner jacket was great but after some use in a 2 week period, a few zipper teeth broke making it hard to zip and unzip… it still does but have to take it slow. I got a replacement jacket (thank you!) but the zipper teeth look exactly the same! Thus, it’s a “we’ll see” review. Otherwise love this jacket- lightweight- wrinkles disappear after getting packed into pocket—great for hiking and exertion without feeling suffocated. Not sure why you guys don’t use a better brand zipper for the price of the jacket? (Like YKK 😊)

Great rain jacket

This is a great rain jacket for running. The problems with most rain jackets are that they get too warm and that they don´t breathe so worst case scenario you get as wet (and cold afterwards) as if you would have run without it. This jacket doesn´t do that. I was pleasantly surprised how well it ventilates/breathes and protects against rain in heavy on and off rain. There was no need to constantly adjust the layers and I could focus entirely on the running.

Train in the rain

Yes this coat will be my go to rain runner. Ran a short 30 min run in light rain and muggy. Vents worked great! Bring on the rain! It won’t stop me!
