Last week, I ran my first 50 mile race. I have tried more pairs of running shorts than I can count, but never found the perfect fit. I'm a weight lifter, so my thighs are bigger than most ultra marathoners, which always creates an issue for half tights. I am 6 foot, 170 pounds. As soon as I tried these on, they felt different. I ran 20 miles in them and they felt even better at the end of the run than they did at the beginning. No chafing anywhere. With the four pockets, they fit all my gels, soft flask, PB&J, and electrolyte mixes for my ultra. Everything stayed in place and I can't recommend these shorts enough. These are the best shorts I've ever worn.
I'm never disappointed when purchasing products fron Janji fit perfect (L) they feel great 🫠
I've tried Brooks, Bandit, Rabbit, Adidas, and now Janji half tights. Far and away, the Janji are my favorite. They are true to size (I wear a L in Janji shorts and they are perfect. I sized up initially to an XL and it was just too much material). FWIW I'm 5'10" 195-205 lbs and these fit great all throughout that weight range.
The pockets are great, but the thing that really sets these apart is how locked in they feel fit wise from the start. This is the first pair of half tights I've ever worn that didn't slide down the leg, didn't roll down the waist, and were comfortable around the waist band at all times. I wear these as a high waisted tight and they're great. I've heard other people say that they wear them as a low rise, but the crotch is just too low for me that way. The only low rise halfs I've ever been able to comfortably wear are Rabbits.
I plan to wear these all winter too. There's something called a "modesty layer" that I haven't seen in other tights that acts as a great windshield. It's essentially a double front layer of material. Yay for double functions!
I'm waiting for another artist collab drop and picking up another pair. Really blown away and worth a full price pick up.
very comfortable and plenty of pockets
When you go long put these on. Ability to hold a 500ml full soft flask in the mesh side pocket with no bounce or chafing completely comfortably + other storage and innovative back pocket design allowing you to store stuff, access it easily and hang a shirt through one side and out the other is awesome. Tiny knock for them not being the most comfy/ plush but that’s being super nit picky. 9.5/10
Super comfortable, perfect amount of pockets. Wore these for my last 50 miler and had no issues.
I’m 6’ tall and weigh 165 lbs with a 31” waist. These are my go to for long distance trail running. The main reason is the pockets. There are so many pockets. With these on I don’t have to wear a vest to carry all my stuff. I can stick a water bottle on the right side and a sub sandwich on the left and still have room for electrolytes, phone, rag, sweet treats, blocks and many more. If you’re a dude and haven’t experienced all the pockets on your tights you should totally try them. Also, they are double layered in the front so, if it’s hot and you go commando, you can’t see all the details. If you know what I mean. In colder weather I definitely wear an extra layer under.
These are my first half tights.
Fit - Love it, I'm 130lb/59kg and 5'9/175cm took S
I wish they added weight in the review template, was afraid they will be too tight as the fit guide waist measurement vs other body parts is a bit smaller compared to other brands.
Pockets - amazing, first time I can run with my phone and zero bounce.
I Would have the back pocket openings a bit larger to fit 250ml soft flask or have it easily accessible (could not fit mine)
Would also trade the internal pockets i'm not sure what to use for with more external waist quick access pockets for gels.
But these changes are not really necessary as the side pockets can fit *a ton*.
Quality - Overall very good, only thing I didn't love was the seams, they look sturdy but a bit fuzzy, and there were some loose threads to trim.
But in case I have a problem, the warranty really is long.
Friends have told me they prefer half tights over shorts and now I agree. These Janji half tights are awesome! The pockets keep phone, nutrition, etc. in check during long runs. The light compression is a plus too. I’ll buy another pair.
The perfect marathon half tights. No chaffing whatsoever. So many great pockets that keep things from bouncing, and space for at least 8 gels plus a phone and my inhaler.
