High quality but room for improvement

I wanted to love this handheld and there's a lot of great things about it: it seems very durable, I really like the thumb hold, and the included water bottle is good. It's comfortable to hold. I've used it for at least 5 runs.
But it's more fiddly than I would like: the strap is quite stiff and I have to mess with it a lot to initially tighten onto my hand. I have to cinch it almost every time I take a drink. It's also hard to loosen to stretch it back out, which makes it take extra time to swap bottles. The pocket can basically only hold 1, maybe 2, gels and a car key. The opening is quite tight so it's hard to get things in. I cannot get a full sealed pack of chews into it.

Too big

This handheld is way too big for my hand and trying to use the strap to tighten it down just folds up the bottle. The pocket is also really small and I can barely fit a gel in it.

Best hand held so far

I’ve been using soft flask for over 10 years and have gone through at least 5 different brands. I like this cause I can tightly adjust it to my hand and after 15 minutes forget that it’s there. I can further adjust it as it empties out so it still feel snug. I’ve only used it for 7 runs so far but I think it going to hold up well in the durability department. I like that it is also compatible with my other 500mL soft flask

I don’t get it.

I love my janji apparel. It looks good, but more importantly, it’s well-designed and functional. This handheld is the opposite. It completely fails at its purpose. The elastic loop that is presumably there to hold the soft flask in is not up to the task. While it works fine when the flask is full, as soon as the flask is about half empty, it starts to fall out the top. You have to squeeze your hand to keep it in. But that defeats the point of a handheld. It would be easier and more function to just carry the flask in your hand by itself.

One of the things that drew me the most to this handheld is that it is supposed to be able to strap on to the shoulder strap of a backpack. It does indeed attach, but it only has horizontal-oriented straps. It lacks a vertical-oriented strap to prevent the handheld from slipping down the shoulder strap. As soon as I start running with this thing attached to my shoulder strap, it slides down, no matter how hard I tighten it.

It’s hard to fathom that anyone tested this out before producing it. I’m quite disappointed.

This one is a winner!

This one is a winner. I hesitated for a few weeks before deciding to try it out, and I'm so glad I did. After a couple months of consistent daily use, I can attest that this handheld is GREAT. So well designed. The pocket is large enough for a small pouch of fuel (usually gummi bears for me!) and the flask is large enough to be helpful without being burdensome. The loops and straps for a secure fit and hold are pretty much all adjustable which is great as you drink and the volume of the flask itself decreases. I can always find a way to re-adjust to my consistent satisfaction. Everything has held up really well too, quality-wise. Absolutely worth the buy. Only drawback is the flask isn't insulated, so I learned quickly that if you freeze it then it's too cold in the hand BUT I figured out to simply wrap a lightweight wool buff around the handheld and that protects my fingers from freezing. Anyway, great purchase. Best handheld I've ever found or tried.

Almost perfect as a handheld

This water bottle is almost perfect. It is comfortable to hold and run with, easy to get water from. I just wish the pocket held more. It is big enough for a car key, but I purchased it hoping I could fit a packet of chews. Luckily, I can keep my chews in my janji pace shorts pocket instead.

Hands down best handheld

Great flak volume and ample storage for few gels and keys. Perfect cinch down straps for custom grip. Lightweight and versatile for most runs

Absolutely Exceeded My Expectations!

I couldn't be happier with this purchase. The quality is outstanding, and it performs exactly as described. It's durable, incredibly well-designed, and worth every penny. If you're on the fence, definitely go for it—highly recommended!

Lastly, I just thought it'd be easier to put small stuff to the pocket if the opening is on the side ways for easier access. What do you think?

Great handheld and versatile for lots of activities

I’ve been using this for li g runs, but love that it also attaches to your hiking pack! The top that closes makes for a leak free experience.

Not for me

While I love the color, this runs large for a hand fit. As the water runs out I can’t easily carry it.

It’s Janji!!

I actually never run with a bottle in hand….until now. I love Janji and this soft flask holder is awesome. It fits the Janji 500ml soft flask it comes with perfectly and it looks awesome. Now I enjoy running with a belt and this Janji flask holder in my hand securing a flask of cold electrolytes.

Great water bottle!

Used this handheld on a hot run yesterday. It didn't necessarily keep my water any cooler than my other handhelds, but it worked really well! The pocket held my car key (it could hold one MAYBE two gels instead of my car key.) Wasn't sure how I'd feel about the two loops at the top meant to help secure the handheld on the run, but they worked well! (I slipped my thumb in one, my index finger in the other, and tightened the strap down.) It was also really easy to refill, but might be nice in the future to have the quick cap as an alternative since you just flip it up and snap it back down instead of screwing it off. This will definitely be in regular rotation for me!
