I'm not one to run in a jacket like this, but for practically everything else I do in my day, this is my grab and go! Lightweight but warm, compactable, and makes me look like the coolest dude wherever I am!
Ultra light, ultra soft, block wind and light rain, great weight to warmth ratio, will want to keep it on all the time, but one size bigger to fit 2-3 under thin layers in very cold. Otherwise, only need an ultra light 1 layer for cool and cold days. The reflective snow leopard print is fantastic!! I have two of these jackets. One medium and one large, so I can fit several layers for coldest days with the large, and fit 1-2 very thin layers with the medium. Exceptional jacket! Definitely one of Janji’s best overall products. Consider the snow leopard reflective. Very cool, unique, and great looking.
Lightweight, warm, comfortable.
Bought for very cold winter runs ( 20’s & teens) here in NJ. Temps haven’t been this cold yet. Used in 30’s and worked great with single layer underneath. One run was in the 40’s and got too warm. Wish it had vents for those days when it starts out cold and warms up quick. Love the pockets for shedding gear. Fit perfect based on description. Will be trying it for mountain biking. I too, thought it was to thin to be warm, but it is!
I have been searching for a new running jacket for several years. But, I have not found anything that I liked as much as my 10 year old jacket. I tried the Thermalrunner. When I first took it out of the bag I almost sent it back without trying it because is was so light that I couldn’t imagine it being warm. I run cold. I do not like cold. In fact I am comfortable running marathons in 80 degree but feel miserable in 50 degrees. (I know that is way out of the normal zone.). I get cold at 45. So I first tried this jacket with running sleeves an a t-shirt when it was 44 degrees. I was actually hot. Then the same set up for 40. Also hot. Later I tried just the jacket for a run when it was 43 and I was very comfortable. Not to make too much of this but yesterday I did a 12 mile run on trail wearing this jacket, sleeves, t-shirt, hat and gloves in 36 degree weather. I was quite warm. I am sold. It is very warm, even for a self confessed weenie about cold weather. And, due to its weight and packability, it will become my backpacking jacket. I love it and was very pleasantly surprised.
I bought this jacket because I was specifically looking for a jacket that I would be comfortable wearing both on runs and in my daily life. It's light enough to not weigh me down during runs and warm enough that my core doesn't feel chilly even in cold weather. The dual zippers are also really handy for adjusting the look and fit on the fly.
I hate to complain about the cold living in TX, and this jacket has made it easy to keep my mouth shut. My favorite new addition to my winter gear.
Perfect fit and great for running in under 40f. Like zipper action.
Fits true to size. Jacket is very light weight and much warmer than you would expect for something this thin.
I have struggled to find the right cold weather running jacket, this is as close as I can get, it gives you enough protection and insulation. Still, the challenge is always getting enough breathability. But this seems to be the best I can find.
