WHAT IS THIS SPECIAL RELEASE ABOUT

We've decided to release our seasonal water is a human right tee early and give 100% of proceeds to support COVID relief in India. While the CDC has relaxed some COVID-19 restrictions in the US this week, the battle to combat this pandemic is far from over. India is facing a massive surge, recording more than 300,000 new cases a day in the last week — a trend that is on the rise. The core mission of Janji is to create positive change in the world through running and we specifically do this by giving 2% of all sales to support clean water projects. But there are many times when we wish we could do even more to uplift and support those in need.

As we grow, our team continues to think of resourceful ways that we can do that together. Putting out a graphic tee to support a cause is one way we know how. Wear the WAAHAA COALITION Tee and spread the message that water is a human right, we are all human after all, and therefore we all deserve basic rights.

WHY DO THIS NOW?

Each Janji collection is inspired by a different part of the world. Our current season pays homage to the Southern Indian city of Chennai. We teamed up with a Chennai-based textile artist to collaborate on our print designs and will be working with the non-profit Environmentalist Foundation of India to support the ongoing efforts to rehabilitate Chennai’s reservoirs and create a more sustainable water supply system. But we can't ignore the current hurting in India caused by the pandemic, and because of the way our 2% give back on all sales works, we won’t be supporting our NGO partner until the end of the season. So this is us making a fast pivot to put awesome gear with a great message on more runners while helping out those in need right now to support the greater good. Triple win!
