What was your peak weekly mileage while training for 2025 Cocodona?
Peak week is usually around 70-80 miles. I'm a low mileage runner, but it works for me!

What's the biggest mental shift you have to make to tackle a 250-mile distance?
Patience. Sure it's a race and yes you're on the clock, but when you're moving that slow and steady for that long of time — and taking naps along the way — you gotta have patience to enjoy the whole journey.

What's one training mistake to avoid at all costs?
Not training the gut. To go far, you gotta take in a lot. But if the stomach isn't ready for all the calories and hydration needed to keep moving, it's gonna be a bad time.

What was your peak weekly mileage while training for 2025 Cocodona?
My biggest week was 106 miles with 46k feet of vert, otherwise I average around 80miles per week.

What's the biggest mental shift you have to make to tackle a 250-mile distance?
Monotony and being comfortable spending very long hours with my own thoughts. I usually run the same loop for hours to get used to boredom. I have a small 2.5-mile loop that gains over 1k feet or a 10-mile loop that's very similar to Cocodona terrain and I just lap one of them for hours.

What's one training mistake to avoid at all costs?
Not training with a full pack or gear that you would be using at race, especially for Cocodona. 4L of water makes a huge difference in how pack feels.

Peak mileage was 104 miles with 15k feet of vertical gain.

What's the biggest mental shift you have to make to tackle a 250-mile distance?
You just have to give up trying to think about the ending and break it into chunks. It's too far to comprehend.
