Ready to run in it when the weather turns. For now I'm just wearing it casually because it's so warm. Fits great, love that it is reversible and has pockets on both the inside and outside
I love this vest. It's very versatile & looks good running errands or just running. The only thing that may be a downside for some is that care & handling is a little fussy: I was told in response to an online query that it should be hand washed and hung to dry. Totally fine with me, but not maybe for those who like everything machine washable.
Just enough warmth
Love, love, love the reversible vest!! Light as a feather and just the right amount of warmth…… pack it into its own packet for pack storage. I wear it for all things…running, biking, hiking, travel, and of course just as an everyday piece! It washes well and I just love the fabric!
Love my thermal runner jacket so I thought I would give the vest a try. Super light but it packs a lot of warmth. Great addition to my running wardrobe. Love it so much, I got it in both colors. Got the jacket in a medium, but it runs a little large so I opted for the small in the vest for a more form fitting fit. I am 5’7”, 140 lbs for reference.
I have used this vest a couple of times and it is light and comfortable. It adds just a touch of warmth.
I'm not usually a vest person, but I decided to try this one, and I'm glad I did! I ordered my usual jacket size, which fits a little larger than other Janji jackets I have. I bought it to be a top layer, so I wanted the extra space for layering underneath. I would have sized down if I were looking for a tighter fit. I love how it's long enough to cover my bum and keep me warmer on cold runs!
Full disclosure: I work for Janji and got to wear test this last winter. I wore the heck out of it, but was excited to try out some new winter staples and wasn't sure how often I'd revisit the vest. Lo and behold, the bitter NYC winter is amongst us already, and I've been grabbing this vest more frequently than you can say BR IT'S COLD IN HERE. I wear this over Repeat Merino and Run All Day long sleeves and it keeps my core cozy and warm.
I also wasn't sure if I'd need the reversibility. One color is enough, right? Wrong. I flip this thing often. After all, the run 'fit is almost as important as the run itself. This is quickly becoming a winter staple (even though it's not even winter yet...).
I really like this updated design of Janji's vest. The fit works really well for my body (5'5", 135 lbs - bought a small). I like that the bottom doesn't cinch like previous years and the back covers my bum just enough for some coverage. I really like that it's reversible with one side being solid colored to help with wardrobe choices! The seadrift print is stunning and I'm tempted to get the other print as well if it weren't so pricey. I took off one star for the fact that the pockets are only on one side of the vest (the printed side). I would have bought a second in another print in a heartbeat if the pockets were on both sides! (and only while on sale)
AFAIK this is the first iteration of a vest from janji and it’s /fine/. i’m sure next year’s version will be better, and boy is there room for improvement. for starters, the sizing is wildly off. it’s incredibly roomy in the body, especially at the bottom where it seems to flare outward, whereas the shoulders are constricted. there’s elastic on the armhole seams (my best guess is to fit snugly against whatever layer you have underneath and prevent lots of air from coming in). however, it causes the vest to feel tight (and again, the vest is way too big for me everywhere else). there are three pockets but they’re not all functional at once; the print side only has a top chest pocket while the side pockets are only accessible on the solid side of the vest. most shoppers are drawn to one side of the vest over the other (in my case, the print, which is so so good). it seems insane to force the consumer to choose between form OR function. the vest keeps me warm and i love the print so i’ll probably keep it, but i really hope the next versions of this vest are a marked improvement.
