These are great! I am a big fan of the Transit Tech shorts for my everyday shorts, and so figured I would try these since they seemed similar (they don’t have a liner) plus they are intended to be amphibious. In the last few weeks, I have practically lived in them in my day to day life. They are super comfortable with lots of pockets and any time I get something on them, it seems to wash right off with a little soap. I have rocked them at a swim meet and I have rocked them under waders doing field work, and they performed wonderfully in both situations (also you can probably see why I was interested in amphibious shorts). I can confirm they also dry very quickly. I liked them so much, after purchasing one pair and wearing it for 2 weeks, I came back and purchased a pair in every color. I don’t use these for running because I prefer more of a biker short, but they are perfect for me for pretty much everything else! I did wish there were some fun prints, but since they are more neutral colors I guess I will just have to pair with some crazy printed shirts.
For sizing, I suspect these shorts are pretty forgiving if you are in between sizes because they are looser, but definitely check the size chart. While I got my normal size for Janji for this season on and what their current size chart would recommend based on my waist measurement, if you haven’t purchased Janji in awhile they did update their sizing so sizing shifted for me across the board this season from earlier seasons.
Love them!
Just got them on birthday sale (happy birthday !!) and initial impressions were good and have only work for short runs, walks this weekend but pockets are amazing, material is light yet feels strong. I got black but look forward to run colors. I got an XS, usually S or XS in some athletic clothes and sized down to make sure they don’t sag. Still feels relaxed enough and stretchy!
I love pockets with zippers! I love the length and coverage these shorts offer. Great for running and everyday summer wear!! These are also my first pair of running shorts without a liner, while that seemed different at first I am totally embracing it!!
Really nice, light shorts. Comfortable. One downside is if you have relatively thick thighs these will ride up. But still very nice shorts!
If you liked the transit tech shorts and pants, you'll love these! I recently got transit tech shorts on sale but the smalls were huge in the newer style. I ordered xs in these because I could tell I'd love the pockets, and they were similar. I like the inner pocket inside the zippered pocket on these comfy shorts. Less jiggle when phone is there. Now we just need more fun colors! I think janji changed sizing. I'm noticing xs fits better now and S is too baggy in newer models.
Haven't had a chance to try these shorts in the water yet, but they are already one of my favorite pairs of shorts. Love the higher waist, the relaxed leg opening, and the amphora color.
I love these. I'm typically a small in Janji's loose shorts and I got a small. The high waist provides a more secure fit for swimming (combined with the drawstring) and modesty to pair with a cropped shirt or a sports bra. More zippered pockets! The lack of liner still feels like enough coverage to wear alone. I'll be wearing these all summer for all things. They look sharp and not like running shorts. I'll be getting another color!
I’ve been looking for a liner-less, lightweight short for multi-day hiking that would dry quick when washed. I love my AFO running short and had been using those but found the liner wouldn’t dry overnight. I was hoping this would be the answer! Because I’m 5’2” I found the shorts to be a bit long. I wish they would have a shorter option. I also found them to run a bit bigger. I did, however, like the higher rise waist band and I loved the zippers! No dropping things on the trail. All in all I am pleased with these shorts and will get more colors 😊
I've tried a few Janji short styles and these tied for my fave. They are so light and sit very comfortably at my waist (I have a long torso). The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I'd prefer a narrower leg opening. These feel voluminous around my thighs, but I don't think I can size down because the waist and butt are perfect. Fabric is awesome and already showing its durability. The leg width will not prevent me from buying more!
