W's 3" AFO Middle Short Ultra

These shorts are sick! The fit I think is a little roomier than the original middle shorts, with the leg opening a little bigger too. I usually size up to a M in the middle shorts because the S is a liiiiittle too snug on my butt, but for these I got a S and I think they're perfect! I am a S in all other janji shorts. Love the waistband, feels super secure but also like it is not even there! Pockets are great, the orange colorway looks cool as heck. Nice kinda rugged, "leveled up" version of the original classic everyday middle shorts.

The AFO middle short starts at 4 stars for me. As someone that is curvier with long legs, if the waistband fits then the shorts are SHORT and snug on around my butt. To get the shorts to hang how I'd like I have to size up and then am always cinching the waistband down. I was super excited to see a version of the shorts with pockets; however, none of the pockets are really that useful. The back zip pocket and two hip pockets are good for gels, but none of the 6 pockets are big enough to hold a phone. The two front pockets seem pretty useless to me for a running short. I'm not going to put anything in them heavier than a credit card unless I want my shorts being pulled down in the front. Also, I had to take the pull tabs off of the zippers because they bounce around so much while running and were constantly hitting my hands. Wanted to love these but unfortunately, I think they missed the mark. I wish they had the waistband/pocket structure of the multi short but with the fabric/cut of the AFO middle short. I think that would have been a much more functional product.
