mostly good!

I like these but wanted to like them more. I carry an iPhone 14. It bounces in both the back above-the-butt pocket (not super noticeable but on a recent 2 miler, the bouncing was enough to cause chaffing from the shorts themselves) and in the thigh pockets on the liner. The liner isn’t as robust as the trail tights I also have from Janji. That said, for gels and keys, all the pockets are great. I just won’t be carrying my phone in it.

Also the drawstring is flimsy and hard to tighten. I do mostly like these! But that makes the negatives more apparent.

2-in-1 isnt the best version

I own multiple pairs of the AFO Shorts with the brief liners and their great, I tried the ultras for the compressive liner and the only thing that liner did to me was the band at the bottom pulled my pants down with every step I took .3 miles and went home and changed to do my run. I have rather muscular thighs so that might have contributed.

Major bounce with phone in liner pocket

Pretty bummed about these. Impossible to carry a phone without major bouncing around. Gels are fine, but I really expected the liner to fit more like a half tight. It is advertised as "no bounce." I have to wear my running belt with them which I did not expect when buying and defeats the purpose for me.

Not my favorite

I have been likin the 2 in 1 shorts and the half tights a lot and decided to give this pair a try. Honestly is was pretty disappointing. The drawstring doesn't cinch easily and if you're planning on carrying a lot of gels or water then it keeps sliding down. Also the pockets seemed nice in theory but they're not set up as well on other clothing they have here

Very comfortable and love the color. Only thing is the waistband tie frays a litte bit.

Wish I had just bought another pair of Janji tights

These are ok, but I feel the tights part is a bit too loose (phone shakes around and doesn't really work for water). Also sweat stains on the crotch area of the blue color are unflattering. I would recommend a pair of Kanji tights over these.

I got 2 pairs of medium janji shorts and these

I got 2 pairs of medium janji shorts. The other pair fits true to size, but this one is loose around the waist. Really expensive shorts for having discrepancy in sizing.

Great buy

These shorts are the best shorts I’ve ever owned. I’ve already worn them for a trail half marathon in the mountains, a full marathon, and even regular strength training workouts.

For $104, these shorts don’t really fit the bill

For $104, these shorts don’t really fit the bill. Bought two pairs, I own 3 Janji half tights, tried the afo ultra shorts (not the 2 in 1’s) the linerless version in store and thought they felt amazing.

The problem is mostly the drawstring, you cannot secure these shorts at your waist, which is how I like to wear my shorts/pants when I run, the drawstring is absolute garbage, practically useless. If you want to let these sit at your hips, these will work for you. Second issue, the fit is way off compared to the rest of the Janji line, these are huge. I wear a medium in my Janji pants and tights, but these mediums are huge. Naturally it would make sense that these would be a a relaxed fit, however the liner will roll down on you and do this weird thing with your shorts.

All in all, not great, I don’t recommend them and I regret spending 208 plus tax and shipping for these shorts now.

Excellent Running Shorts

This short is one of my favorites. Fabric feels great and sizing is spot on. Been very pleased with the light feel of these and how much ventilation they have. Love the versatility of the pockets. I often have to run with keys/wallet/cellphone/gels and finding a pair of shorts to accommodate all that can be a hassle. These were perfect for my training sessions and will work great during my races.

Almost great but why is the string so flimsy?

Almost great but why is the string so flimsy? Hard to load up pockets without a more robust method to secure the shorts.

Odd Sizing

In my experience as somewhat of a “big dog” runner Janji shorts run large. These shorts fit a little big and cause some chaffing for me. I have bought size XL- M trying to find the right size. Hoping medium works out!

Sidenote I am typically an XL in tops but Janji shirts fit much slimmer than other brands.

AFO Mid Short 2 in 1

Quality shorts as usual! Bought these because I used the ones without the liner. I wish I would have bought just the shorts with no liner though. I don’t like the draw strings as I actually have to use them now because the liner makes the shorts a bit too heavy and does pull them down if I don’t tie it. The draw strings can be annoying to tie and even more annoying to undo if you tie them wrong. Almost peed my pants trying to undo them lol. I probably would get a small next time even though I normally use medium.

New Favorite Short

I have been a long time fan of the Multi 7" 2-in-1 short but saw these and gave them a try. These are really comfortable for my longer runs, and I like the addition of the zippered pockets on the shell. I would give it 4.5/5 stars with my only issue being the drawstring - I think using the same drawstring used in the Mult 2-in-1 would make these even better. Hopefully some more colors drop soon!

The liner wants to work its way down my thighs. It's not as comfortable as a pair of shorts over my normal compression underwear. No issues with the shorts. The liner's pockets aren't robust enough to hold a cell phone , but they're fine to hold nutrition or a key fob.

Love them…almost

Lightweight and plenty of storage. My only issue has been carrying phone. Phone slides down to the bottom of the pocket which should be fine. However, the seam on the compression short runs a blister on my leg. Phone won’t sit higher so I need to wear equal length boxer briefs to avoid the blister.
