Hits all the right marks

I purchased this jacket for my husband to wear training for his ultra through the winter. We live in upstate New York so cold weather and snow gear is a must. He's worn it three times now in around 30 degree weather with just a t shirt under it and says that it's perfect. I was worried it would be short or not fit in the chest but all worries from the 1.0 seem to have been fixed. Depending on the cut of the garment he varies between a L and XL.
He's 5'10 around 230lbs.

The GOAT of running raincoats!

I have plenty of windbreakers for running, but no true raincoats, so I decided to give this one a try. I was impressed by some of the ads I saw for this jacket (the person wearing it in the shower comes to mind!). Since I've received it, I wore it for a few cold-weather runs. Today, I put it to the test for a race where it was pouring freezing rain. I stayed bone dry all the way and comfortable through the finish, yet it was breathable to where I wasn't getting overheated. My husband wore another brand of running rain jacket and was uncomfortable because his jacket kept him dry from the rain, but the jacket didn't breathe which caused him to overheat.

I love the pockets in the front.... perfect for keeping hands warm, a phone, hand warmers, gels, etc... there's even a spot for a key. The hood cinches nicely whether you have a hat on or not.

Fit is true to size. I could comfortably wear a long sleeve or maybe even 2 thin layers (think base layer + shirt over top + this jacket).

Well worth the price.... fantastic gift idea for a friend or loved one (this would win you the Best Gift-Giver Award, haha!)... or wonderful purchase if buying for yourself!

Easy to run with this Jacket on or off

I love how easy this jacket is to run with. If I get warmed up or into a sunny patch, it ties around my waist with no fuss at all if I am not carrying a pack. The only negative which may be unpreventable is the noise from the fabric as it moves. I love the hood because it can be tightened in windy situations and allows me not to fuss with it while running in order to keep it on my head. I live in very high wind conditions and this makes my runs a lot easier.

best running raincoat

I have tried a bunch of running raincoats (looking at you oiselle) and this is by far the best one I have ever worn. I did not overheat in humid temps and my baselayer stayed completely dry, which is a miracle. No notes.

As advertised

Good fit, ventilation. Long sleeves for protection of hands. Hood is great over a baseball cap for protection from rain and wind.

This jacket is wonderful for rain and wind. I can easily adjust it to my smaller head and it has a great breathable quality.
